The
Palomar College Archaeology Club was founded in 2001 to enrich the archaeology
program curriculum. Under the auspices of Dr. Philip de Barros, Associate Professor
of Anthropology and Director of the Archaeology Program, the Club promotes and
participates in lectures, discussions, field trips, and volunteer projects.
It strives to foster relationships that bring students, faculty, indigenous
groups and the community together in the goal of shedding light on humanity's
past, while promoting and supporting professional and ethical practices of archaeology.
The Club supports members in advancing their academic and professional careers
by providing school, employment, and volunteer information among other services.
Membership is open to any Palomar College student interested in Archaeology.
